How are you doing at home?
We are doing fine.
A “shelter in place” order was given to us here in Illinois yesterday at 5pm. As I practice the new routine of staying home except for some outdoor exercise and air, I have decided to think of this period of time as an opportunity to practice #homing.
To me, homing means focusing on the joys of being home, of more time to make, explore creative processes, and be with my family, and practicing contentment with what I have.
As my yarn and craft supply stash will attest, I am not always the best at remaining content with what I have! Perhaps you can relate. 🙂
In the spirit of adjusting my attitude to embrace this period of homing, I am making some big changes in my yarn business.
To support you, and other makers as we cope with our current situation, I have made ALL of my independent pattern line free to download. This includes my PDF ebooks and individual pattern downloads.
My aim is to share joy and ease the difficulty of this time, to freely offer something an give with joy in the hope you will take joy in using them.
A deep thank you to everyone who has bought my patterns in the past. I can’t tell you how your business has impacted my life and supported my family.
Finally, I want to leave you with a thought from Psalm 91 that has reminded me of where I can shelter-in-place no matter what outward circumstances may be:
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Peace be with you, Friends. Don’t hesitate to write to me or say hello. By the way, I use instagram again!
Do you? 🙂
